June the 26th, 2024 – As the masses head to sunny Dalmatia, here are five of our favourite Dalmatian dog beaches you can enjoy the Adriatic Sea with your furry friend on.

zadar dog beach (zadar)

Zadar is an exceptionally popular coastal destination in the slightly more northern part of Dalmatia. It attracts not only an abundance of foreign tourists every year, but plenty of locals who have properties there too. With people come their dogs, and the Zadar Dog Beach is a fantastic location for your pet to cool down and enjoy the Adriatic like you do. You can find directions to it here.

CVITAČKA BEACH (MAKARSKa)

The truly stunning Makarska Riviera is a natural lure for everyone. Protected by the imposing Biokovo mountain, this part of Central Dalmatia is a must visit. Luckily, your dog will be able to jump in for a cooling dip with no problem at this most beautiful of Dalmatian dog beaches. The directions and raving reviews can be found here.

ŠIMUNI BEACH (PAG)

The bizarre moon-like landscape that dominates the rather odd island of Pag is worth seeing. Like something taken straight from a sci-fi film, this island in the northern Dalmatian archipelago is full of beaches. You can find the beaches on Pag ready and waiting for your four-legged friend by clicking here.

MAJEROVICA BEACH (HVAR)

Croatia’s premium island, Croatia’s sunniest island, Croatia’s party island… the list goes on and on when it comes to names Hvar has been given over the years. Regardless of what you want from this Central Dalmatian island, nobody can deny that it is absolutely gorgeous. If you want to let your dog enjoy the gentle lapping of the Adriatic waves, it’s worth paying a visit to Majerovica beach, one of the Dalmatian dog beaches on this “exclusive” island. You can find the directions to it by clicking here.

supetar dog beach – braČ

Another Central Dalmatian island is beautiful Brac. Located across from Split and the rest of the Central Dalmatian mainland, this island has several dog beaches. The most popular one found in Bol – the location of Croatia’s famous Golden Horn (Zlatni rat) beach. Others are located in Supetar and Splitska.

As stated, these are just some of the main Dalmatian dog beaches located in different coastal areas and on its islands. There are more within each region. It’s worth noting that all of the beaches in Slano near Dubrovnik are dog-friendly, as is the popular Dance beach in the city. The Marina Frapa resort (Rogoznica) also has part of their beach where dogs are always allowed.
